WHAT QUEENS SAY…
Nicol, also known as Nikki Kush (DJ), originally from Chile, currently based in Vancouver. She’s passionate about music and deeply involved in Jamaican/Caribbean culture. She has been part of a collective called “Constance Bubble,” an all-female sound system inspired by Jamaica’s 90’s reggae dancehall scene.
Within this collective, Nicol discovered a profound connection and developed her unique style—mixing Caribbean rhythms with her Latin roots. This experience shaped her mission in music: infusing energy that gets everyone dancing, even those unfamiliar with Jamaican Caribbean culture.
Hailing from a Spanish-speaking country, Nicol noticed how people back home vibe with melodies without understanding the lyrics. This awareness broadened her approach. She aims for conscious music selection, preserving Jamaican culture’s authenticity while making it inclusive for those who feel the rhythm but don’t understand the language.
Her focus remains on delivering an inclusive musical experience, blending rhythms that resonate universally. Whether it’s about injecting energy, introducing new beats, or ensuring an overall great experience, that’s what you can expect from her DJ sets.
